Please help me to check it !

This is my English homework, and I've finished it. But I think I 've got some mistakes. Do I rewrite the following sentences right? Please help me to check!

1. Although Chinese civilization originated in various regional centers along both the Yellow River and the Yangtze River valleys, the Yellow River is said to be the Cradle of Chinese Civilization.

-----> In spite of having been originated in various regional centers along both the Yellow River and the Yangtze River valleys, the Yellow River is said to be the Cradle of Chinese Civilization.

2. The first Chinese Lantern Festival took place on the first moon of the New Lunar Year, or the 15th day of the New Year in 230.B.C.

3. Buddha’s Birthday is commonly called the ‘water festival’. It also celebrates the day of the Buddha’s enlightenment and the day he entered nirvana.
