Pesticide products and chemicals used for household and health care purpose  are the conditional lines of bussiness . The Ministry of Health is assigned to manage this conditional lines of bussiness defined in the Law on Chemicals and the Law on Goods and Product Quality. To perform all state management functions and acts  over these products, Ministry of Health issued the circular No.29/2011/TT-BYT dated June 30,2011 ON MANAGEMENT OF INSECTICIDAL OR GERMICIDAL CHEMICALS AND PREPARATIONS FOR HOUSEHOLD AND MEDICAL USE.

 This Circular provides that the circulations of insecticidal or germicidal chemicals and preparations for household and medical use need to be tested.Testing process will be complying with provisions as stipulated on Decision No 120/2000/QD-BYT of January 1st,2000. However, many provisions have not conformed to the practice and Testing Process for some new products has not been shown in this Decision. Thus, Draft national technical regulation of pesticide products and chemicals testing need to be issued. This is the framework to  effectively control chemicals, pesticide products and be compatible with international practices. Drafting Boards were created by Ministry of Health  to fomulate draft national technical regulation of testing mosquito repellents.

- WHO: World Health Organization

- LC: Lethal concentration

- CAS number: Chemical Abstract Service Registy number

- OMS code: WHO code number

- Larvae: Larvae strong enough, full of feathers, move and swim normally

- Larva “dying”: larva is unable to float on the water or does not have reaction when something is dropped into water

- Chemicals: substance with activity used to kill larvae

- Chemicals used to kill mosquito larvae is products containing active ingredients in technical form used to process into finished products or directly use ( known as “chemicals”)
