Please help me .Thank you so much!!!!

Cindy needs directions to the doctor's office so she can ask me for help.

Cindy needs directions to the doctor's office so she asks me for help.

Which one is correct?

A lot of my friends say that I must add " can" in every "so" sentence; however, I don't think so.

I try to explain in this way. Please correct me if my explanation is weird.

Because Join is cute, everyone likes her.
Because Join is rich, she can buy a house. (the word "can" can be added depending on the meaning of the sentence. )

One more sentence:
We have a lot of money so we can buy a house.
or
We have a lot of money so that we can buy a house.
