Some people think that we are now paying a lot of attention and resources to protect wild animals and birds while there are still many other alarming problems that need to be taken into account. I completely disagree with this statement for some reason.

On the one hand, there is the reason why wild animals should attract more concern and resources from the public. It is impossible to deny the essential role of these animals in our life. Wild animals and birds contribute to the development and preservation of biodiversity. It means that without their existence, the ecosystem risk being threatened dangerously, which may result in serious environmental degradation such as global warming, climate change. For example, several kinds of birds help the farmers by consuming harmful insects and rodents, dispersing fruit and seeds for forest trees as well as help pollinate crops.

On the other hand, I suppose that the situation of wild animals and birds should require more supports and attention from the authorities as well as awareness from the public. Indeed, numerous species of animals are on the brink of extinction or are on the endangered list and the governments seem to be indifferent about it. For example, zoologists have been warning of the decline in the number of rhino species due to illegal poaching by humans. However, the plight of this species has largely been ignored by the media. Moreover, wildlife abuse is still a matter of great concern today. For instance, The behavior of some zoos is strongly condemned for treating wild animals cruelly as well as letting them live in poor conditions.

In conclusion, it is necessary to give more attention and resources to protect and prevent wildlife animals from the risk of extinction.
