Nowadays young people lack an understanding of how to manage their finances after they finish high school. Explain why they do not know how to manage money and how this can be changed.

After a period of high school, young people have to take care of their own lives, and many of them encounter difficulties with their financial management. In this essay, I will elaborate several reasons why this happens as well as how to improve their issue.

Among various reasons, there are two major ones what can count as this problem. First, during high school, students don’t need to take responsibilities for their financial status, which is covered by their parents. They are required to devote a significant amount of time to their study, instead of other life skills including financial management. Second, after completing their high school, generally, juveniles incline to experience vast activities which hard to do previously, but they do not pay sufficient attention to their finance. Although it is a typical characteristic of young people, it can pose some challenges to their life stability.

To promote their capacities of managing their properties, something can be done from sides of school and family. In terms of school, besides tradition subjects in the curriculum, lessons of money management should be added. As it is an essential life skill which people must master even when they are children, it should be provided with appropriate content for students from elementary school to high school. In addition, parents can play a role of mentor to guide their children necessary knowledge and managing skills on finance in first days of their life as young individuals. Moreover, they can help these individuals manage their money in some needful circumstances.

In conclusion, there are two causes why young people do not understand about financial management, and schools and families can provide effective supports to enhance their ability.
