Essay & Composition Writing

Please help me review this writing task 2. Thank you very much

Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business, and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinions.

Many people are of the opinion that it is highly expected that data, including scientific studies, business, and academic information, should be shared freely in this world of freedom while others opine that only one that their owners deem suitable to publish can. This essay discusses both sides of this argument and I will give my own perspectives.

To begin with, distributing such information can open a window to faster development and a better overall world. In fact, while there are plenty of scientists who own great ideas and novel concepts, but are not qualified enough to turn these ideas into reality, those who possess enough expertise but struggle to find an area to innovate. By sharing, the collaboration between these people can become fruitful and possibly change the world one day. For example, Dr James Cornic , a physician coming from an underprivileged family, could not have contributed to develop a cure for patients suffering from skin cancer if his discovery about how to use pollens from his local area had not been shared.

On the contrary, sharing sensitive information may pose serious threats to the world if it falls into the wrong hand. It would be incredibly catastrophic now if IS, one of the most dangerous terror groups in the whole world, obtain the nuclear technology that allows them to efficiently produce a large number of nuclear weapons. Moreover, each entrepreneur hold their own strategies and confidential data that are vital to the survival of their own business. For instance, were Elon Musk to publish all of his innovations owned by SpaceX, his company, other organizations, including governments, would take advantage of it and drive him out of the competition.

In conclusion, I believe both sides of the argument have their merits. On balance, however, although scientists, researchers, businessmen and women, and academics would benefit a great deal when as much data as possible becomes accessible, certain kinds of information should be safeguarded to ensure the safety, fairness and peace of the world.
