Please help me review this IELTS task 2

Many museums charge for admission while others are free.

Do you think the advantages of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the disadvantages?

Some people complain about expensive entrance tickets when visiting some museums and believe that it should be free of charge. Personally, I think that charging fee is a reasonable policy whose positive effects overcome the drawbacks.

First of all, it is undoubtedly evident that museums, regardless of public or private ownership, need adequate budget to survive. They have to pay for their staff as well as maintain the preserved objects. Otherwise, a museum should also organise various extracurricular activities such as plenary seminars, field exhibitions, educational courses, and certainly advertisement to attract more spectacles. These procedures all require a considerable amount of money. Thus, every museum has to charge visitors an entrance fee even though they can still receive some kinds of budget from the government or philanthropists' contribution. Secondly, paying for a museum ticket is a way to remind visitors of the worth of going to a well-invested museum. In fact, people, especially the youth, are often negligent to public museums although many of them are opened for free access. The main reason might come from their stereotype, ill-managed exhibitions due to lack of investment.

In fact, certain people claim the charging fee of some museums, notably the private ones, are out of reach of many individuals like children, the elderly, or the disabled. This problem can be solved easily by various methods. A museum itself always has special discounts for designated guests. The authority can also fund for free tickets so that vulnerable individuals have opportunities to see the museum. It is obvious that these downsides could not outweigh the benefit of charging fee.

In conclusion, a payable ticket for museum is essential to maintain and promote the value of museums to the public.
