Please help me review this IELTS task 2

Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products anywhere in the world.

Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Some people believe that many countries on Earth are now more identical because they used almost the same products. I agree that this tendance has positive effect in some points; however, diversity between nations should be preserved.

On the one hand, people in every country are having larger chances to buy and utilise various kinds of modern products such as electronic devices, household appliances, cosmetics, packaged foods from multinational corporations. They also approach easily the high-quality agricultural goods like scented rice from Thailand, sweet lychee from Vietnam, or arabica coffee from Colombia. As a result, the customs of consumption or favourite smells of foods have been widespread and accepted accross any boundaries. This chance has paved the way for the popularity of worldwide trademarks like Apple's iPhones, Starbuck coffee, McDonald's fastfoods which satisfied rising demands in everybody's life.

However, diversity is still neccessary and recognised as the trend of development in the world. To coexisting in the current globalisation, every nation definitely understand that the only way to emerge onto the world stage is to preserve and promote their specific characteristics. Therefore, this strategy has been applied in many economic sectors. For instance, Maldives rose to the world tourist map owing to the unique luxury insular resorts built on the coral reefs or South Korean Hallyu waves which swept through a bulk of countries based themselves on the magnificient combination of Asian culture and Western-style entertainment industry.

To sum up, globalisation created wonderful opportunities for countries to get approach economically and culturally. Nevertheless, maintaining the own national identity in a diversified world is still the reasonable solution to mitigate the drawbacks of integration.
