Please help me review this IELTS task 2

Question

Every year several languages die out. Some people think that this is not important because life will be easier if there are fewer languages in the world. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion.

While the number of extinct languages is rising every year on Earth, certain people believe that life will be more comfortable with fewer languages. In my opinion, I strongly oppose this argument.

First of all, language barrier can not be the hindrance of our life nowadays. Throughout hundreds of years of cultural and economic exchanges, people have successfully chosen some international languages feasible for multinational relation such as English, French, Spanish. The quantity of multilingual speakers continues to increase over the past decades of globalisation. Moreover, the advancement of IT sector brings us many intellingent translating tools so that citizens from different countries can easily make a conversation without any trouble.

On the other hand, language is the heritage of human civilisation. Each language reflects the unique characteristics of an ethnic. The more languages exist, the richer culture human-being possesses. The disappearance of several languages also means the extinction of many minority communities such as indigenous tribes in American, Oceania, or Africa.

To sum up, fewer languages can not make our life easier but reveal a regretful fact of global diversity. And recovering lost languages should be a mandatory measure of any governments.

For instance, the United Nations have selected six major languages including English, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese which would be used in the organisation's documents or conventions. The quantity of multilingual speakers continues to rise over the past decades of globalisation. Moreover, the advancement of IT sector brings us many intellingent translating tools so that citizens from different countries can easily make a conversation without any trouble.

On the other hand, language is the heritage of human civilisation. Each language reflects the unique characteristics of an ethnic and should be respected equally to the others. The more languages exist, the richer culture human-being possesses. The disappearance of several languages also means the extinction threat that many minority communities such as indigenous tribes in America, Oceania, or Africa have to face with. Individually, scientific evidences have proven that learning a foreign language allows people to not only be more flexible and interactive in communication skill but also a child's capability to acquire new knowledge.

To sum up, fewer languages can not make our life easier but reveal a regretful fact of global diversity. And recovering lost languages should be a mandatory measure of any governments.
