Please help me review my task 2

To some people studying the past is the best way to help young people function well in the

modern world. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other measures could be

effective in helping young people to function well in the modern world?

Applying history as a mandatory discipline in a school curriculum has always been a controversial topic in most parts of the world. A common view is that learning the past is a waste of time as people ignore the beauty of its history and valuable lessons to the present time at the expense of development in technology. In my opinion, history plays a vital role in student future’s success, apart from improvement in language communication and computing skills as well.

There is a demonstration that the undeniable role of the past in shaping the pride in our origin and belongings. Exposure to the country’s history makes people aware of how much their forefathers and soldiers sacrificed their adolescent stage and suffered at various times to make our country what it is today, thereby developing person’s patriotism and honoring the memory of famous figures who lost in wars, which ensures them never happen again. Another benefit from research on the past is that people have a thorough insight into a variety of fields related to politics and sovereignty and give a glimpse of the future. It shows a path of development of citizenship, indicating many mistakes and failures and equipping someone with a more well-rounded perspective of life.

It is clear that there was a time when learning the experiences passed down from generations to generations. However, those days are far behind. As a result, besides studying the past, to be able to thrive in a competitive and a whirlwind-paced society, people need to broaden their mindset and keep themselves up with the pace of technology. Moreover, a solution is to learn social skills, for example, a student with language ability will be more likely to earn a good living and secure a decent job. In addition, an employer hires someone who is innovative and connect others rather than a shy person who only memorize theoretical information in books.

In conclusion, without historical knowledge, no person can be aware of a sense of roof and unify together. However, only learning the past will be insufficient to achieve their goals unless people spend time improving language or computing skills.
