The maps illustrate Pebbleton 20 years ago and now.

Overall, Pebbleton evolved into a more residential area with recreational facilities while retaining its trees.

Pebbleton was and is surrounded by a sea and river. 20 years ago, its main area had a light house with an old fort south of it in the northwest corner and a film studio in the southwest corner. East of the film studio is Old Fort Road, an east-west road with a playing field along it and trees on both sides. Two side roads originated from this road: Lighthouse Lane, leading to a row of houses in the north, and Roadbridge, which connected the main area to another one containining a school, trees, and a coast road.

At present, the light house, playing field, roads, houses, trees, and school have remained unchanged, but the film studio has been converted into flats, and Old Fort has been turned into a children's playground. Moreover, a community centre and more houses have been erected beside the old houses, and tennis courts have been constructed along Lighthouse Lane. A footbridge and footpath now link both parts of Pebbleton.

Overall, the changes have been limited to the peninsula, not the mainland, which is across the river. There is a new footbridge, recreational facilities, and more housing, but neither the lighthouse nor the roads for vehicular traffic were changed.

Twenty years ago, a lighthouse for ships coming from the sea and into the river was on the northwest point. A film studio was on the southwest point where the river emptied into the sea. Behind the lighthouse was an old fort, and houses lined the north shore. The peninsula was connected to Coast Road on the mainland by a road bridge. At present, there is more housing, not only additional homes along the north shore, but the film studio was converted into flats. People are served by a new community center and they can walk to the school on the mainland via a footbridge over the river. The old fort is gone, a playground in its place.
