Please, help me review my map description

The maps illustrate a city in 1950 and now.

Overall, the city's residential area has increased greatly in size, and it currently has a lake.

In 1950, the city's population was 20,000. And it had two main roads that met in its business district, which was in its center; one of the roads ran north-south and the other ran east-west. A residential area surrounded the northern part of the business district. In the southern part, there was an airport near the easternmost part of the east-west road and a river running from west to east, over which was a bridge. A government building was south of the bridge.

The city currently has a population of 200,000. Although the roads and bridge have remained unchanged, the residential area has expanded greatly, surrounding the entire business district, which has now been separated into two parts by a lake terminating at a dam on the eastern edge of the residential area. In the southern section, moreover, the airport has been enlarged, and a new road with a government building on its side and a bridge have been constructed.
