Topic: Students should pay the full cost for their own study, because university education benefits individuals rather than society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
People are divided in their opinion regarding whether student should receive support from the government or pay all the tuition fee by themselves as graduates may get benefits from university education to pursue a successful career. In my opinion, I partly agree with this point of view. Let us examine both views before reaching a concrete decision
First and foremost, there is no denying that university education bring a prospect career for the student to get a better life. This means that graduates can expect to have a better job with higher salaries and chances to move up their career ladders rather than non-graduates. Therefore, they will be likely to live in prosperous and enviable lifestyle which non-graduates need to try hard to realize this dream. According to the statistics, the number of students after graduate in USA college can earn two or three times as much as unskilled workers.
In the other hand, there are several arguments support to the idea that the government should provide funding, which means students should not pay all the course fee for their university study. This is because of the fact that students acquire useful and essential skills to society as a whole. They devote hat they have learned in the university to build up the prosperity of country. Besides, as a huge amount of tuition fee, students may be forced to pay off the student loan when graduate, or they have to work their way through university. This may lead them to fall behind with their study, and the worse case can be dropping out of college.
In conclusion, for the reasons mentioned above, I believe that students should not pay full cost of their university education. Although graduates can gain much more benefit from the decent degree, they also contribute to the prosperity and well being of society. Thus, they are deserve to receive financial support while studying progress
