My essay:

Since the development of technology in recent decades, the transition from traditional education to distance education has become more and more popular in the world. With computers and the Internet, students can learn from anywhere and at any time they want. However, despite these advantages of cyberlearning, I still prefer to learn at traditional schools.

First of all, students can only participate in collaborative work in traditional classrooms. The process of learning is not only watching lecture videos and accomplishing assignments but also requires interaction between students and their teachers and peers. Students can hardly take part in group activities such as role-playing, presentation, group discussion unless they join in face-to-face classes.

Secondly, educational institutions provide a platform for students to be involved in extracurricular activities. There is no doubt that extracurricular activities play an important role in school life. For example, playing sports or joining academic clubs helps students develop and sharpen their individual skills such as teamwork and public speaking skills that are useful for their future professional careers. However, in fact, all of these activities cannot be carried out in cyberspace.

Last but not least, in-class teaching provides pupils chances to enlist the help of their friends and instructors. For many students, especially young children, it is hard to pay full attention to online lectures and complete their tasks at home. They need support from their peers and tutors. In traditional classrooms, they can share their views with their friends and lecturers and clarify the queries at the right moment. Also, teachers have more time to understand both strengths and weaknesses of their students, hence they can give them better guide and motivation.

In summary, although digital development has revolutionized the way of learning, I believe that traditional schools will not vanish in the future because distance learning can neither alter all necessary activities at schools nor provide necessary assistance for students.
