Please help me read this.
Hi,
The writing below makes no sense to me, so I must be reading incorrectly. Would you help me read it?
And here is my understanding of it: In the evening a clerk puts some plexiglas on the desk between the staff and the guests for security purpose or something. So Who are they that are communicating through a hole in the wall? I really can't picture this space well.
"The lobby divides the staff and the guests into 2 groups. The lobby is large with an office on one side and a sitting room on the other. They communicate through a hole in the wall. There's a counter and bell and everything. In the evening the clerk draws some Plexiglas across the desk."

- Well, it might be the thing that the hole in the wall is something similar to a counter in banks, when an operator serves them.

The "hole in the wall" is probably more like a window. Note the window-like structure at the right in this photo. The office is behind that (Plexiglass) window in that area, and the Plexiglass can slide to close it off completely from the sitting room, which is shown in the foreground and takes up most of the photo.

If I take the hole more like a window, the writing can make some sense. I'm not convinced yet, but probably CJ is right.
