The line chart compares the number of incidents that occurred in the center of Newport city over a period of 9 years

It is clear that while the figure of burglary and car theft fell, the opposite was true for robbery. Also, the number of robberies was lowest during the period

In 2003, the amount of burglary was roughly 3500, in comparison with only nearly 2500 each on car theft. However, in the next 3 years number of burglaries, car theft declined significantly to 2000 incidents. By contrast, robbery was around 500 incidents and increased approximately 1000 in 2006.

In 2007, the number of burglary peak significantly around 1500 and it still declined approximately 1000 each in 2012. However, this is not true for car theft and robbery due to the fact that they still increased in 2009. After that, they stay at this level in 2012.

In conclusion, in the Newport city center, the rate of burglary fell significantly, the level of robbery still constant, however, car theft raised and had the biggest number of incidences in 2012.
