Please help me out

Hello. I've been dealing with an article which I am supposed to make an analysis of. So there is this sentence within the text;
The discussion will crude in many other respects and it will involve some enormous oversimplifications.
Ive searched everywhere yet couldnt come up with the meaning of crude. The verb form of it is very rare. What should I understand from this sentence? What is it trying to state? Please help me finding the meaning of verb crude please. Thank you

I think it is a mistake in the text. It probably should read The discussion will be crude in many other respects and it will involve some enormous oversimplifications. As originally written it does not make sense to me.
