could you please give me any suggestions to improve the following???? Thanks a lot.
We would now like to pause for a moment and focus our attention, once again, on two essential PNL tenets, namely Outcome and Rapport.
As regards Outcome, we have learnt that we need to ask ourselves the following question:
What do we expect our students to achieve at the end of the course, or individual meetings as in our case?
And, we have also found out that it is absolutely essential we put the following query to our students:
What do you intend to attain at the end of our meetings ?
By asking these two simple and straightforward questions we usually start the discussion about our own expectations and those of our students, whose ideas and opinions we always listen to in serious concern. Consequently, we, teachers, together with our students can start developing our awareness that the teaching-learning process has already started. And, at the risk of being repetitive it is worth mentioning again that if our students’ aims together with ours are clearly stated from the very start, the stages that follow this first raising-awareness meeting will prove to be more encouraging and easier to walk along.
Thanks a lot,
María del Carmen
