A DAY IN CAN THO CITY
Cast:
- Cat Tuong as Joyce, a dog visitor.
- Dinh Huong as Milk, a cat visitor.
- Minh Thu as Wilson, a duck visitor.
- Phuong Quynh as Jessica, a rabbit visitor.
Script:
Dinh Huong, Minh Thu, Cat Tuong, and Phuong Quynh are foreign visitors. They are going to visit Can Tho city in one-day. They will visit some famous and popular places in Can Tho city. Their trip will start in the morning and end at night. The trip will start at their hotel.
Morning :
At the hotel ( about 5 am ) :
Tuong: Good morning guys. Welcome to Can Tho city- the biggest city of the Mekong Delta.
Huong: Oh my god, I’m so sleepy. ( Yawning ) Why did we have to get up so early?
Thu: We have to go to the floating market, Can Tho is well known for its, don’t you remember?
Quynh: Exactly. Our first destination is the Cai Rang floating market. The best time to visit is from 5 am to 8 am because it is the busiest moment of the market.
Thu: Wow I’m so eager. I can’t wait to go there.
Tuong: But I’m starving, is there any place selling breakfast there?
Huong: Yes, I’ve read that we can have breakfast on the boat when we reach there.
Tuong: Wow, that sounds great. Let’s go.
At the Cai Rang floating market:
Thu: Wow this is Cai Rang floating market. It looks so amazing.
Tuong: Early in the morning, hundreds of boats gather to buy and sell goods in crowds. The unique feature of the floating market is the bamboo pole called “ Cây b?o ”.
Quynh: Oh I know I know. That is a special way to advertise agricultural goods. The sellers hang all kinds of goods to invite buyers.
Huong: And this will leave an unforgettable impression on every visitor.
Tuong: That’s right. I’m starving now. Let me have breakfast first.
Thu: Me too. Let’s have breakfast together.
( Meanwhile )
Huong: Alright we have just explored the first places. Where will we go now?
Thu: It’s nearly afternoon, we should find somewhere to rest and have lunch.
Quynh: But I still wanna go out and play.
Tuong: I know this place which will be suitable for all of your wishes…
The others: Where?
Tuong: I suggest that we should visit My Khanh tourism village. We can rest there and have lunch, we can also join in many interesting activities.
Quynh: Hmmm… I think that is a good idea. I’ve read about that place before. It is said to have more than 20 kinds of fruits in a large garden.
Huong: Wow! I kinda like to go to My Khanh tourism village to try those things. Let’s go now before Joyce starts to complain about how hungry she is.
Afternoon :
At My Khanh tourism village:
Tuong: Here we go, My Khanh tourism village.
Thu: I have read that in this vilage, we can experience the old days of southerners’ life by taking on the costume of a rich landlord who lived in a big house.. As a rich landlord, you can enjoy fruit, hot tea and listen to music from a hand-operated gramophone made more than 300 years ago. I really wanna try that one.
Quynh: Hey look over there. There are many ancient houses that were moved piece by piece from Can Tho's Binh Thuy Ward and reassembled. That is another feature of My Khanh tourist village.
Huong: At this village, we will also be served with Mekong Delta specialties such as baby rabbits, snakes, tortoises, bats, and crocodiles. The meals include regional fruits such as rambutans, durians, mangosteens, and oranges.
Tuong: We can rest in Central Highlands-style stilt houses with total of 300 well-equipped rooms in all. Besides, there are other entertainment services including a swimming pool, fishing and boating on the river. After we had lunch, can we go fishing?
Huong: OK we can try it. Now let’s have lunch.
Evening:
Thu: Where should we go tonight? Do you wanna go to Ninh Kieu wharf? It has become the pride of Tay Do people.
Tuong: Oh I have checked the map and there is Ninh Kieu pedestrian bridge near there. We can also visit it while we walk through the Ninh Kieu wharf.
Quynh: That sounds great. Is there any place else that we can explore for this night?
Huong: The map showed that there is Ninh Kieu night market is not far away from there. They sell foods and clothes and souvenirs to serve tourists and local pepeoples.
At Ninh Kieu wharf:
Tuong: Wow this bridge is so huge. There are so many peoples on this bridge.
Thu: Yeah, the weather is cool now, we can feel the wind breezing through our hair.
Quynh: Ok I think that's enough for Ninh Kieu pedestrian bridge. Our next stop is Ninh Kieu night market. We will walk along the Ninh Kieu wharf and reach there for 2 minutes.
Huong: So I think we should go now because I'm hungry.
Tuong: ok let's go.
Night:
At Ninh Kieu night market:
Quynh: Here we go. Here, people sell a lot of kinds of clothes such as shirts, shorts, trousers,..
Tuong: I think there is no need for us to buy clothes because we're going to go back to our country tomorrow, you know.
Thu: Yeah she's right. I think we should go to the next place where they sell food. It's nearly half past 8. I think we're all hungry.
Huong: Yes I have waited for this moment.
( Meanwhile)
Huong: I'm full now. Vietnamese food is so delicious. I have tried a lot of kinds of foods but I still have not tried all of them to.
Tuong: I think we can try all of them if we have the second chance to come to Vietnam, especially Can Tho city.
Quynh: Well we have finished our one-day trip in Can Tho city. It's so amazing and wonderful.
Thu: I have explored a huge amount of Vietnamese daily life as well as their culture and foods.
Tuong: I hope we will have more chances to visit this wonderful city in the future.
Huong: Yes, me too. But now it's late, we have to go back to our hotel and prepare for tomorrow's flight. Let's say goodbye to Can Tho city.
Everyone: Goodbye Can Tho city.
