Many students find it difficult to concentrate or pay attention at school. What are the reasons? What could be done to solve this problem?
There are numerous students suffering from not concentrating and paying attention at school. In my opinion, this difficulty can be attributed to some reasons and there are several measures which can be taken to tackle it.
On the one hand, the first reason why many students undergo the difficulty in concentrating or paying their attention at school is their mobiles and Wi-Fi connection at school. Because of being connected with Wi-Fi, students’ mobiles can operate and notify them of what is happening on their social media and in the world. Consequently, in lieu of concentrating lessons at school, they are strongly attracted by this hot news through their mobiles. Take my friend who is easy to lose his attention on lessons as an example. Due to his phone continually informing him about how many people comment on his Facebook page through Wi-Fi connect at school, he can not deeply concentrate on his lesson. The second reason is that some subjects are considered tedious by students. These subjects are unable to catch their attention, making them to find another lesson or activity which is more interesting to do.
To make this difficulty less severe, I suggest some solutions that can be taken by teachers. Firstly, they should force students not to use mobiles at class without their permission and heavily fine them for not complying with the law. This action leads to a significant decrease in the use of mobiles, helping them concentrate better and pay more attention at school. Secondly, students should change their methods of teaching subjects universally and traditionally regarded as deadly dull. This can be best evidenced by my history teacher. Thanks to altering the way of teaching history by using more images, music and games, he ultimately attracts his students’ attention more, compared to his old method.
In conclusion, mobiles and Wi-Fi connect at school and boring subjects give rise to hardly concentrating and paying attention among students. Limiting the use of students’ mobiles and making these subjects more interesting can surmount the difficulty.
