It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behaviour to children?

People have different views about how children should be taught. While there are some good arguments in favor of teaching children by punishment, I believe that this is better to punish them co operatively.

There are many kinds of punishment; however, corporal punishment is never a good idea. Physically punishment is a way of controlling using fear. It is clear that punishment does not promote the trust between adults and children. Moreover, corporal physical creates an atmosphere of fear and anger. As a result, children who are punished physically may become shy and resentful. Eventually, they could be lack of love, which causes their lacking of mental in the future.

Another opinion could be teaching children the difference between good and bad behaviour. Firstly, teachers should set the rules about behavior which need to be strongly supported by parents. To cite an example, children should be taught how to behave with an adult or with a different gender friend. Also, teachers should teach them take responsibility for their behavior. Then, teachers must have power to punish disruptive students. In addition, teachers should remove difficult children from lesson. Anyways, discipline could be lacking at home. Meanwhile, parents should make friends with children and create a positive atmosphere at home. In other words, father and mother should spend more time on talking and playing with their children. Instead of physically punishment, when children make mistake, parents should tell them what the thing is wrong and guide them what they were supposed to do.

To draw a conclusion, parents have choice to teach their children. However, it is true that the way children being taught effects their personality when they get mature.
