STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

“No one can blame you if nature has not endowed you with supreme intelligence; But to have knowledge and fail to put forth your best efforts is blame worthy”

This is a popular anecdote which impressed me right from my childhood and this is an impelling force which put best of my efforts and try to ascend greater heights in my never ending quest for knowledge.

I wish to pursue my M.S degree in Computer Science. During my years of Bachelors degree, I have grown to admire the role of Computers in the perspective of local networks and wider networks by linking from local to global level. The satellite communication and encircling the entire globe with a single chip fascinated me and looked with excitement and enthusiasm. The consistent thoughts over the context of systems built an attitude for excellence and that motivation has always been at its peak beginning of my early years at the high school, and the college. Further the advancements and developments in surrounding environs of which is an IT Hub, exposed to the world of science and technology as a part of living and learning.

In my Schooling, when I have first seen the computer, I have been excited and decided that I must work on the System. Then it was fascinating and a dream to acquire the skill to work on it. In order to fulfill the dream of working on computer, I have to wait for at least couple of years after finishing my post-secondary level with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry which are my favorite subjects in schooling, where I always stood first to third in a class of 45 students.

My analytical mind with a problem solving approach, rationale and logic provided me a consistent support in solving number of problems in sequence either in the classroom or laboratory. The fascination of the computer and the mind set provided a preferential treatment for the selection of Information Technology at my undergraduate level where after attending a screening test I have been chosen CVR college of Engineering (an affiliated college of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) for my undergraduate study.
The college is an excellent portal for learning the systems where the qualified faculty given excellent pedagogy which is a structured and rigorous instruction with the integration of computers at the core and applied areas opened a window into the world of Information Technology. Moreover the structured instruction consistently provided a deep understanding into the systems and the surroundings supported in learning state of the art of technology.



My Academics, Computer Skills, Achievements and more…

My association with computer systems developed significantly over the years in college and has helped me increase exponentially. Having been exposed to the various aspects of Computer Science in the course of my undergraduate studies, I have found Networking most intellectually satisfying and stimulating. Courses like C-Programming, Database Management Systems, Computer Organization, Computer Graphics, OOPS Through JAVA, Computer Networks, and Automata & Compiler Design have been my firm favorites.

The continuous thrust of learning, forced me to learn more about computers and its languages through integrating myself with various developments taking place in Hyderabad and subsequently the advances in Information Technology itself. During my stay at college, I stand among the top 6 students from the Information Technology department and which given me a better confidence that I can excel myself by channelizing my entire endeavor by pursuing more work in the didactic mode through masters program. I can say with confidence that the past few years have been crucial in enhancing my interest in pursuing a master’s program in Computer Science.

During my summer vacation at the end of the third year, I carried out a mini-project on “Job Portal”. This project was developed using various open source software components like TOMCAT 5.0.Job portal is a website where the job seekers can register and upload resumes, based on their resume, Companies, which have registered with Job portal site, will automatically send them mails regarding job requirements with all the details. The computer application, in Indian context, became more common, with the most of corporate houses and number of esteemed government departments. The work provided me an entry into the applications of IT world which is quite gratifying.

I have also been involved in various extra-curricular activities. I have Presented Technical Papers on various Topics like SPEKE (Simple Password Authentication Exponential Key Exchange Protocol) at QuBit-08 and WIMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) at Technolites-2k8 and also participated in workshop titled “Web Application Security” held at Techfest 2008, IIT Bombay. I have also participated at many inter college level quiz and sport competitions, doing well most of the occasions. During my school days too I was active in debates, quizzes and various sport competitions.



Where do I want to go from here …

I have thus developed a powerful intellectual urge to empower myself with futuristic technological skills and keep abreast with the trends in Networks. I am very keen to do some independent research in this field.

The education system in literally opens the whole world to us. The focus of the curriculum is not mere book knowledge but also on acquiring hands on experience and practical application of that knowledge. The tremendous flexibility of curriculum, application oriented study and cultural diversity have promoted me to choose as my next academic destination.

I would like to equip myself well to fulfill my ambitions and to build a career around my potential. What else can be a better stepping stone for me than a graduate study program in a school of repute such as yours?
