The maps illustrate the alteration of an art gallery in Australia between 1950 and present.
Looking at the overall perspective, there was a major change with the addition of a school and two exhibition sections on the courtyard, whereas other sections experienced no change.
In 1950, when visitors accessed the entrance, they faced a sculpture at the centre of the gallery, which remains unchanged until now. In the west, a temporary exhibition and bookshop has appeared since 1950 without any change, except for the cafe section, which was divided into two parts for building a toilet room.
To the right of the sculpture, both Middle and Early European art has been positioned at the same place until now, while Australian art has been removed in favour of Asian Art. One striking change is that the large courtyard has been used for opening three new gallery rooms, which contain a room for Children art school to the left, Australian Aboriginal in the middle and Australian Art on the right of the gallery.
