Some people today prefer to get advice for medical problems and to not want to visit a doctor.
Is this a positive or negative development?
Our writing is below
In this technological era, we have convenience to access into huge source of information on Internet, social media or other digital platforms. Some people might thing that there is no need to go to hospital or meeting with doctor about their health problem, they could find it on their computer or their smartphone instead. However, I strongly believe that this could take more disadvantageous than advantageous. And this essay will briefly discuss my opinion.
On the one hand, our trust on the advice from internet or irrelated person could deliberately make our circumstance worse. One of the main principle disadvantage is that there is no criticism or scientific testing on what is published on Internet and it is very dangerous for us to believe those kinds of information. Moreover, only by having an accurate assumption related our health could we find an appropriate treatment. For example, if we decide to ask Google instead of doctor when we feel cold and cough regularly, it will display variety types of sickness such as flu, common cold or even a symptom of cancer. As a result, this unreliable answer will take both mentality and physical status of patient down.
Another disadvantage is that we cannot buy the appropriate medicine to treat us well since the initial forecast may be wrong and it may lead us into another bad health problem. However, it has not all been negative and our innovation in accessible information could be leverage effectively in this field. It is obvious that we could mitigate both time and money when we do not directly come to visit a doctor and choose to contact them on their website or social media fanpage. In addition, Covid pandemic let us decide whether we enter to crowd place like hospital or clinic then stay at home then treat based on the authorized advice from experts.
In conclusion, there are clearly positive and negative results to taking advice about our health instead of going to healthcare place. Overall , the disadvantageous may outweigh the advantage since it is quite difficult to have correct assumption if people continue to read and follow unreliable advice.
