It is true that tourists from many parts of the world pay more visits to museums and historical places than residents. There are several reasons for this trend, and governments and authorities should take actions to solve this problem.
On the one hand, I can understand why historical and museums relics only attract tourists. To begin with, Tourism is defined is a journey and stay outside the normal places of residence and work in a short time and there is a clear intention to return home, therefore, people usually choose to visit somewhere far from their lives. Moreover, locals are much more familiar with museums and historical sites in near their hometown or even considers them as part of their life. Consequently, they could feel boring and lost motivation, if they have to visit there as a tourist activity. Another reason related to the entrance fee of museums and historical site, the tickets in there are expensive for local habitants could afford.
On the other hand, governments and authorities of museums and historical sites play a vital role in tackling this issue effectively. Firstly, in the term of government, it would be better if they could invest financial resource to improve facilities as well as enhance the quality of tourist services. Secondly, another measure is historical relics should provide free tickets for all the local, it could be considered as an effective way to encourage local resident to visit there. HCM museum as a typical example, Children, under ten- year- old, could go there freely without worrying about additional expenditure in order to broaden their knowledge about their hometown.
