Nowadays, more and more people decide to have children later in their life. What are the reasons? What are the effects on society and family life

In recently years, the trend of delaying childbirth become more and more popular. There are several reasons for this trend, which is having a significant impact on both family life and on the community as a whole.

On the one hand, I can understand why more people, especially young generation, choose to have children later in their life. First, nowadays, people have a hectic lifestyle, heavy workload and extra work become normal than ever which makes them immerse themselves in their work. Delaying childbirth as a result of suffering pressure and stress. Secondly, young people want to pursue their career or continue their study in order to have a stable outcome before starting a family. For instance, after graduating university, instead of giving up single life and having a settle down as her friend, he decided to open a coffee shop, and now, she is succeeding on her path and have a happy family.

On the other hand, the trend brings several negative effects on the development of society and family system. To begin with, if a woman is pregnant after 35 years of age, the threat of her children might suffer diseases such Down syndrome or BVT, a rare disorder which resulted in the absence of four limbs, is high. Consequently, it not only is a burden for her families, but also is a burden for society. Furthermore, having children later is the main reason lead to the aging population as well as the change of population pyramid, which link to the shortage of workforce in near future. Therefore, it requires authorities and government have to impose suitable policy to solve this problem.
