Please help me, I got stuck with my SoP.

My passion of biology has been nurtured since I firstly stepped into my high school, XXX, which is the best high school in XX City, directly under XXX and as equal to other universities. Although at that time being accepted to enter XXX High school for the Gifted, I chose XXX because this school has unique academic programs in training excellent students for each subject such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, English, Literature and Computing. I was admitted for classes of three different subjects but I still went in Biology class. Unlike other schools’ teachers, almost teachers in my school are usually lecturers of universities who got master or PhD degrees as well as some of them are professors so they led us to a self-study environment and a scientific world just like we were at university. That’s why my independence and my sense of responsibility are formed sooner than my peers of other high schools. Besides, all my classmates were extremely good ones and the study environment was academic and challenging. We learned biological knowledge and many biological experiments which were taught for biological sophomores including experiments on fermentation, plant physiology and animal physiology. These experiments opened my view of natural science and awaken my solicitude for biological knowledge. I always tried to grasp knowledge and maintain my position in top ten students of my class during three years of high school. Thenceforth, my dream is not only to study in well-known universities but also to become one of leading scientists in biology aspect.
To realize my dream, I started to study Biotechnology major, XX University of Technology in 2005. My university which stands the third in XX university ranking is famous for many erudite scholars and international relationships in research. Our professors always set high requirements on their students through class presentations, experiments and examinations that really puts us under high pressure environment throughout four years and a half. I had to find myself the way to let pressure turn out my motivation of being one of the first-rate students in my class. I arranged schedule for myself and complied with it absolutely. There is an idiom “Easy said than done” and my case is not an exception. In holiday occasion such as Christmas, it was always that I forgot myself in study while other fellows hang out with their boyfriends. By this way, I trained my discipline and concentration in studying as well as whatever I do. Moreover, I often ask myself what the purpose of my life is and the answer is definitely to be an outstanding biologist who can devote to biological development of my country, XX. Thus, I dare to spend my time and my energy effectively in preparing my quality to reach this goal. Finally, all my effort was returned in my favor. I graduated with GPA 7.89/10.0, ranking in top fifteen of my class. More than that, I had a chance to do my thesis research in a totally scientific environment, XXX. I worked under the supervision of Professor XXX, XX University of Technology and Dr. XXX, who is currently the Director of the Key Laboratory of Plant Genetic Engineering,XXX. They are certainly the best guidance of these supervisors as well as my diligence which lead me to success. I have learned many practical techniques such as media preparation, cell culture, plant genetic transformation, PCR and GUS staining. However, the most important thing I have ever learned is determination in research. After thousands of my samples were failed, I still preserved to prepare new samples and modified them systematically racing against my thesis deadline. At last, I successfully accomplished my thesis defense with 9.2/10.0, ranking 2^nd in my class. Later, my research is also published in Journal of Biotechnology , a national journal. These achievements increased my desire of study abroad to broaden my knowledge as well as to apprehend high techniques involved in biotechnology which is my favorite major.
After graduating from university as a biotechnological engineering, I instantly got a scholarship of XX University , Korea, for Master degree of Biomedical Engineering. Firstly, I worked on polymer synthesis to create spatial microsieve inside a microfluidic chip for DNA extraction. Secondly, I applied a novel method for bonding plastic chip by solvent assistance. Now, I am trying to extract DNA from hair root on microfluidic chip. Through many topics, I have a surprise about my self-study. Microfluidic chip seems totally new to me at the first sight but at this moment, I am confident that I can handle the basic technique of chip fabrication and chip performance. Besides, I also drive myself to assimilate to professional research environment with team working and co-operation. My professor is a kind person to offer me a chance to attend several conferences including domestic conferences (The Polymer Society of Korea conference 2010, The XX Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry conference 2011) and international one (ASIASENSE 2011) with poster presentation. In addition, my academic report is very good with GPA 4.19/4.5. Working in a good research environment strengthened my wish to become one of the leading scientists in biotechnology. It is my biggest aspiration to immerse into the best English-speaking research environment such as United States, Canada or England.
My country is a tropical country which has many beautiful rural scenes in main land and on seashore with attractive biodiversity spreading from North to South. However, when I travelled around my country to do charity I realized that this treasure of biodiversity is decreasing dramatically most because of human activities. Deforestation, industrialization and illegal hunting destroy the forest’s ecosystem and put many species including plants and animals in danger of extinction. Moreover, laying explosive for fishing without consideration ruins many ranges of coral which play an important role in the ocean’s ecosystem. If this state is not alarmed and the awareness of environment conservation is not improved, there will be a massive loss of natural resources as well as XX’s biodiversity. Therefore, I am motivated to learn more about either evolutionary biology or ecology to figure out solutions for protecting my homeland.
Another reason which urges me to join in this program is the opportunity that it brings to me. Firstly, through this program I can obtain new knowledge of molecular biology and evolutionary broadening my strong background of biology. Secondly, it is also a chance to me to study with excellent scholars from leading institutes and exchange culture to many outstanding students from other countries. Considering the insufficient number of scientists working in evolution and ecology fields of XX, upon finishing study, I hope to be a propagandist and researcher so that I can maximize my contribution to biodiversity preservation in my country. By transferring basic knowledge of ecology to XX people, I can heighten their awareness of environment protection.
At last, this program is significant because it is suitable and fulfills my desire of research in professional environment. As having set my long-time career in research, it will offer me solid and diversified background which is really necessary for me to pursue higher education and to realize my dream, becoming one of leading scientists in biological science. There will be challenges but I accept all of them to make myself refined and useful. Thus, I believe this program will build up a stepping stone for my future career success.
I am convinced that I have enough intellectual ability and quality to become an excellent researcher. Furthermore, my ceaseless endeavor of knowledge enhances me to defeat any challenges to get good results as well as you can see in my application profile. Both the period studying in XX University of Technology and doing Master research provided me characteristics of independence, activeness, determination along with ambitiousness. I strongly believe that these characteristics and my experience will help me overcome difficulties to achieve my goal.
