Please help me fix gammatical

On the one rest day weekend. That is on the occasion of approaching Tet . I had together with my friends decided make tries once experience . We must be prepared to gifts, cakes and some of gifts other.We had help poor people who have no other means of support. We had to move many places to do it. That is places in District 3 , District 5, District 9 , District Binh Thanh. It is place have homeless people or poor people where we come first in District 9 after that we were come to places remain. When we come to this places then everyone see many people homeless living here . When they see us come who here seem to know we came to give them gifts or there are people who don't know. Some volunteer groups like us came here first. I am really surprised and scared because everyone took turns taking presents instead of waiting for us to distribute them.
We did not know that a volunteer came first before us. And this is first time we did it so there are many errors when we have done this. We learned lesson that we should thoroughly understand what places we go to and what people are there and be more careful in giving gifts to everyone.
