Studying abroad is thought by many students to be the best way to get a good education. On the other hand, some students believe that studying in another country has many drawbacks.Discuss both views and give your opinion.Use the worksheet to help plan your essay.Write 250 words.
It is argued by a large number of students that going overseas for study is the best opportunity of achieving a wonderful education, while several ones assume that studying in a foreign nation suffers from plenty of disadvantages. From my perspective, I argree with both of these notions to a certain extent and it depends on which situation or background a person is in.To begin with, it is widely recognized that studying overseas may help students to acquire extensive knowledge and necessary skills in many fields. This is because there are numerous countries providing better education courses than other ones. For example, students in the fashion major in Vietnamese universities do usually not have as good knowledge and skills as those in some Western educational institutions such as Loughborough University or Parsons. By contrast, there are countries having poorer education than other ones. If American or British people entering Vietnamese universities, it is impossible to obtain up-to-date knowlege and skills like those in their countries’ institutions. Therefore, studying in another nation is not the best way to gain a decent education all the time.On the other hand, it is clear that there are a lot of drawbacks of studying overseas. This is mostly because of the language and culture barriers, lack of finance, and some conditions affecting health negatively. For example, a Vietnamese person can not understand all about American culture so it is so easy for them to be shocked of the big different between the two nations’ cultures. Or, if an overseas student can not manage to have enough money for basic expenses, it is obligatory to part time, which can cause distraction. Besides, if a person easily suffers from diseases because of the different weather, it is not easy to examine in foreign countries due to complicated procedures. However, if a person has a good ability to use the foreign language as well as adapt to a new environment and good finance, it is a great chance to achieve a better education from another country.In conclusion, I personally believe that studying overseas is a great opportunity to obtain a better education, but it also has a number of drawbacks. Whether a person should study abroad or not depends on what situation or background he or she is in.
