Please Help me!!! (doubts about verbs)

Hi!

Please I need a help! I have to hand an exercise today. I would like to know if it is wrong if I say:

1) "There are chalk over there" (because I suppose there is no plural form for the word chalk);

2) "This side has a nice view";

3)"This group brings funny games";

4) "My family is great";

And finally I would like to know if the meaning of "on short notice" in the sentence below means: "Without advising previously":

"She always came over on short notice" = She always went to someone's house without advising previously.

I appreciate your help,

Carola
