Overall, Nokia has the highest market share in both years, on the other hand, BenQ Mobile has the smallest global share. In 2006, the percentage of most companies fell, however, Nokia, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson rose.
Nokia was the leading mobile phone producers of the worldwide market which share increased from 32.5% to 35%. The nearest competitor was Motorola which saw a significant increase in sales from 17.7% to 21.1%. Sony Ericson also grew its sales slightly from 6.3% in 2005 to reach 7.4% in 2006.
In contrast, the market share of Samsung declined by almost 1% to 11.8% in 2006. L.G also decreased from 6.7% in 2005 to 6.3% in 2006. The worldwide market share of the BenQ mobile declining 2.5% from the previous year fell to just 2.4% in 2006. There was a 3% drop in the market share of other manufacturers to 16.2%.
