The first line graph illustrates the amount of money allocated monthly to children’s sports followed by the second one in the number of British children played football, athletics and swimming in Britain from 2008 to 2014.

Overall, while parents were spending more and more money on their children’s sporting activities, there were also rises in the popularity of the three sports mentioned above.

Starting in 2008 with exactly 20 pounds, the amount of money spent on sports experienced a gradual growth throughout 6 years later. Specifically, in 2014, the figure was 1.5 time higher than that in 2008 at approximately 32 pounds.

As regard of the second graph, football dominated in the number of children who played it in the entire period. In 2008, there were 8 million children who played football which was 4 times higher than swimming’s number and the figure for athletics was a minority at about half an million. From 2008 to 2014, while the numbers of football remained relatively stable, the number of children who go swimming duplicated to nearly 4 million. Interestingly, the number of children that practiced athletics was fivefold to 5 million in 2014.
