The pie charts illustrate the key factors leading to the percentage of immigrants and emigrants in the UK during 2007.

At first sight, it is clear that the main cause of the decision is the occupation.

The factor of having a definite job accounted for up to 30% of immigration in the UK, the figure has no big difference for the emigration in this country during 2007, at 29%. Up to 22% of the emigration flow and only 12% of immigrants move in and out of the UK because they are looking for a job.

The formal study was another principal reason why people immigrants to the United Kingdom, with a large proportion of 26%, whereas the percentage of emigrants for the same reason was no more than 4%, surprisingly.

The percentages of people who move to accompany their family were quite similar whether it was for immigration or emigration, at 15% and 13% respectively. While there were numerous emigrants who reported they emigrant with other reasons or no reason, at 32%, these reasons only accounted for 17% of immigrants to the UK.
