Overall, the students knew only their native language accounted for highest percentage in both 2000 and 2010. It was getting more and more students who knew two foreign languages.
From 2000 to 2010, the proportions of British students that had no other language went up slightly, exactly 5%. The student who knew another language different from French, German, Spanish had the same percentage rise as that of English-speaking students, 5%, too. In addition, the percentage of multilingual students also had a small growth, increased to 5%.
By contrast, the proportions of student who knew sole either French or Spanish had a small decline, also fell to 5%, accounted for 10%, 10% in 2010, respectively. German was the only language had no the percentage of change from 2000 to 2010, level off 10%.
