Please help me correct my essay

Topic: The maps below show the changes in an American town, from 1948 to 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisions where relevant.

My essay:

The two maps show significant changes of American town, over a period of more than 60 years, from 1948 to 2010. Overall, the town developed towards commerialism.

After the town developed towards commerialism, many financial buildings and infrastructures were built on the town. The factories located in the North of the town were destroyed and turned into an Airport. A super market was built on the land which used to be a park. Four blocks of commercial buildings were built between the park and the airport. The local super market was abolished to make way for two commercial constructions. Some residential houses located at the nearly centre of the town were replaces by two commerial buildings.

A church located at the other side of the canal was turned into a sport stadium, whereas the petrol station at the Northwest and some residential houses located in the East showed no sign of abating.
