Please help me correct motivation letter

I just finish my motivation letter for a exchange program to go study abroad. Could somebody please help me correct this letter?

I would like to take part in an exchange programme
at the *** University for the term fall 2011. Title of study programme at the host university: Master Programme "***".

Telecommunications hold a so firm place in the modern world that we often don't think about its importance for most people and society as a whole. However the telecommunication development mainly provided for the acceleration of technological progress that happened for the last 100 years.

I became interested in communication and radio physics at school. Now I am a third year student of *** University. My specialty is ***.

Subjects that I will study next year give only a general idea about the subject without information on new development and technologies. We have no special courses for choice.

A great number of modern special courses (in addition to the main subjects) attracted me at *** University. In the future I plan to make a career in mobile communication. Therefore I selected such courses as “***” and “***” devoted to the third and fourth generations of cellular systems. In my university I couldn't get such knowledge.

Now I combine my study with job at a ***. One of projects I work is an ***. That is why I want very much to work in the “*** Laboratory” at *** University. Moreover this laboratory interested me because of researches in the field of the fourth generation networks that are started to put into operation. Unfortunately our university doesn’t conduct such investigation. And I didn’t find the information about similar researches on the sites of other universities that participate in the program. In addition, I would like to get acquainted with *** culture and higher education system.

After my participation in the program I am going to return to my Alma Mater and finish the installation development. I will use received knowledge and skills for thesis writing. English knowledge improving and language skills acquisition is very important for me because now all modern literature, innovative and scientific works are published in English, as well as equipment documentation. I am sure the LTE networks will be started to build in *** by the time of my graduation. Study at *** University will give me the chance to get unique and actual knowledge for work according to my profession in ***.

At the same time I study at ***. I think acquired in this center knowledge such as C/C ++ and JAVA programming is important for any engineer. During a month in 2009 I worked at the technical subdivision of telecommunication company "***". I was interested in learning how theoretical knowledge was implemented in practice. The management positively estimated my work. In the laboratory I conscientiously and in workmanlike manner discharge my duties. At my studies I am diligent; I pass all exams in time. I am engaged in scientific work in the framework of physics and chemistry competitions. I try to carry out theoretical and calculation term papers by way of real electric circuits and devices.
