In the modern world, it is no longer necessary to use animals as food or other products, such as medicines and clothing. Do you agree or disagree?

Using animals for food or producing medicines and clothing has marked a debate for years. Some believe that killing animals for such needs is unnecessary. I completely agree with this viewpoint.

To begin with, the excessive consumption of meat on a regular and long-term basis can lead to poor health conditions, such as heart disease or cancer. A meat-based diet is not only sufficient in nutrient but also contains a plethora of proteins required in a reasonable meal. Many scientists are incentivizing people to have a more balanced diet which consumes less or no meat. Fortunately, lots of alternative products are available on the market such as mushrooms, tofu, and other vegetarian food. Those substitutes contain the high level of protein which is considered to be only found in meat.

Furthermore, the number of people concerning about animals issues is rising, resulting in the disapproval of the use of animals for essential needs, including medicines. Instead, herbs and many other types of plant-based medicines are proved to have several benefits relating to people’s health. For example, ginseng is increasingly consumed by many Korean doctors for regulating blood sugar, enhancing brain function and strengthening the immune system. In terms of the fashion industry, thousands of wild animals are hunted and killed, with their fur taken to produce many luxurious items such as coats and bags. There are similar products made of natural plants which can fulfill people’s needs. Therefore, animals should not be the ideal materials for clothing any more.

In conclusion, using animals for the production of food, medicines and clothing is no longer necessary since people have different sources for those needs without killing animals.
