For most of human history, clothes have been handcrafted. Since Edmund Cartwright invented the machine which wove threads into cloth in 1784, it has been hundreds of years in the development of the Garment Industry. It is the reason that many people think this industry is traditional and there is no high growth potential for young talents. I totally disagree with this opinion.
First, fashion is a fast-paced industry. In the past, people only needed something to wear, but nowadays, people are increasingly interested in appearance and always want to catch the trend. There are many fashion brands that bring extremely diverse and abundant collections to consumers in every single year. It can be seen that the fashion industry is never obsolete, and the dynamics of it attracts many young people who want to develop their careers in this industry.
Next, the increase in demand by consumers creates a massive demand in clothing manufacturing and poses challenges for garment companies in meeting the market. To face challenges and growing, companies are always striving to optimize production and operation. And that requires companies to be effectively structured and organized as well as constantly encouraging employees to develop and contribute. To ensure effective operation, each company has many departments with different functions. This brings tremendous labor demand and creates lots of potential opportunities for young talents to grow with many positions and roles.
Finally, for the existence and development of any company or organization, not just in the apparel industry, we both need experienced individuals to build the development direction and young talents who are not afraid to come up with innovative ideas.
