It has sparked a heated discussion that undergraduates have to pay all their expenditures for the tertiary education as the aim of university is of immense benefits to each student, but not a whole society. In my way of thinking, I agree with this viewpoint; however, in some cases, there should be an exception.

For a variety of reasons, it makes sense that the students should have the responsibility to pay for their educational costs. Firstly, it seems logical that university needs to cover its running costs of facilities and services. The school-based system obviously consists of many classes with a full of academic equipment to serve students, which means there are huge payments of electronic bills, educators’ wages and so on. Moreover, by creating more active and dynamic environment for alumni, the academic programs must include occasional education campaigns or events, which seems to be additional expenses. Therefore, undergraduates need to support the university’s finance in order to receive the high quality of education. Secondly, by paying the tuition fee, students gain motivation to pursuit their courses. It is a common sight that tertiary environment requires a high awareness of self-learning and students who fail to pass the course need to pay for another one. Therefore, education payments can act as an incentive to help students draw attention to their learning.

On the other hand, there should be exclusively entitled to tertiary education with scholarships or even free payment for those who have outstanding scholastic attainments. This action is a strategy which incentivizes students to achieve high qualifications. Moreover, it could help the young generations who do not have enough money to afford their further education. On top of that, there increasing a number of students getting enrolled in university, resulting in the immense development of education and high qualified, competent workforce.

To conclude, paying for tertiary education is instrumental in supporting the university’s finance as well as heighten students’ awareness of learning. Be that as it may, students should be persuaded through scholarships to keep acquiring noticeable academic achievements.
