Topic: Some people believe that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters ( such as food, clothes, and entertainment) is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes. Other people believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them.

Freedom plays an important role in everybody’s life. It can be clearly seen that nobody want to be restricted, whether it is a child or an adult. Many people argue that there are several benefits of permitting children to make their own choices in basic needs. However, others think that children may grow up with deviant ideology due to non-restricted education and nurture. To my way of thinking, despite some benefits, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
There are some evidences dedicating that allowing the young to choose their daily routine such as choosing food, clothes, and unwind activities could make they only think about themselves. For example, parents nowadays always spoil their children and try to do everything they require to satisfy them. As a result, children tend to get used with being a central attention, which develops to some detrimental behaviors when they have to become a part of society when they grow up.
However, I strongly believe that letting children decide freely bring a huge amount of benefit for not only themselves but also their parents and society. First of all, children may gain a great deal of experience if they learn from their own mistakes and consequences. A good example is that when a five-year-old stubborn child insisted on playing with fire, despite the mother’s warning, he got a burn mark that he never forgets and he never plays with fire again. Moreover, being strict to children may lead to some mental problems. To illustrate, the research by Ha Noi University in what ten to fifteen-year-old students were dissatisfied with their parents and more than 70% in total thought that parent’s strictness had made them stressful. Finally, if the children have to make the decision by themselves and express their thinking about what they choose, they will develop the logical thinking and build their personality, maybe more creative
In conclusion, it seems to me that children could get a lot of benefit from having a right to make a decision themselves.
