I thought he fancied me, but I'd completely misread the signals,......?

A. hadn't I

or

B. didn't he

My English teacher said that the answer is B, but I've looked for the answer on the internet and A is the right answer. I don't know which one is correct, please explain it to me. Thanks a lot!
