It is true that children are often pampered with numerous kinds of toys. Although this is considered beneficial for kids in many ways, either in education or relaxation, the downsides would be more significant.

There are a number of advantages of providing toys for children. First, a wider range of toys can stimulate creativity for children from early on. In fact, many kinds of toys require children to think and solve problems, like puzzles and lego blocks, which in turn can foster their cognitive development. Second, toys can keep children entertained when parents are busy. This means that kids do not feel neglected from their caregivers as they can find toys attractive and fun for different colors, sounds, and other functions.

Nevertheless, there are also a lot of disavantages that should be taken into account. First, since toys are expensive, less money is spent on necessities or future needs. For example, a low-income family cannot pamper children with a large number of toys as parents need to priorize other basic needs, like food or clothes, for their kids. Second, by indulging kids with too many toys, they can become unsociable. It is clear that most toys are for playing indoors, therefore kids would go out less to participate in outdoor activities, such as football or swimming, which makes them lack social skills.

In conclusion, although toys are conducive to children’s relaxation, they can do more harm than good in many ways. By combining with other physical activities, parents will help kids have all-round mental and physical development.
