Topic: Whether or not someone achieves their aims is mostly by a question of luck. To what extend do you agree or disagree?
ANSWER:
It is believed that someone can attain their goals thanks to their luck instead of working hard. In my view, I totally disagree with this opinion.
I think that it is very important for everyone to be industrious if they want to achieve their ambition. What people need to get success is to work hard day after day. For example, Steven Jobs finally can build up a strong business that is well-known all over the world for the Macintosh operating system after spending thousands of hours experimenting and coding. Another clear case of success through determination is Nick Vujicic. Although he has had suffered from a rare disease that resulted in losing all four limbs, he can earn a bachelor’s degree with a double major in accountancy and financial planning and become a motivational speaker inspiring people. Moreover, he still finds out his true love and has his own family.
On the other hand, luck does not always exist so we cannot depend on it to be successful in life. For example, if students do not prepare for their test carefully, chances are they will fail no matter how lucky they may be. Another instance is that no one in the world can win a lottery all the time because luck only contributes to short- term fortunate. Someone might be lucky once or twice but it is impossible to win the lottery for the rest of their life. Therefore, that people believe good fortune is a prerequisite of success is a definitely erroneous idea.
In conclusion, for the reasons I have mentioned above, I strongly believe that in order to achieve objectives in life, one must be extremely determined and industrious to follow his or her passion till the end.
