The chart compares the proportion of the global population in four nations from 1950 to 2002 and the prediction for 2050.

It is clear from the bar chart that the percentage of Japan population is by far the lowest compared to other nations mentioned during the research period. While there is a stable increase in the figure for citizens in India, the rate of residents in China witnesses a significant decline between 1950 and 2050.

In 1950, about 23% of the total world population was Chinese, which is the highest proportion among the four counties. At the same time, Indian accounted for 15%, standing at the second position behind Chinese. Whereas, the percentage of resident in both the USA and Japan were extremely low, at approximately 7% and 3% respectively.

In 2002, meanwhile, the figure of inhabitant in India experienced a slight rise from 15% to 17%, there was a gradual fall in the rate of Chinese population. Additionally, only 5% of global population is American, this rate decreased somewhat compared to previous period. Japan remained steady number of citizen, at about 3%.

In 2050, it is predicted that the percentage of the Indian population will increase nearly to 20% and become the highest figure compared to other countries. By contrast, the population proportions of China and Japan are projected to decrease to 15% and about 2% respectively. In the same year, the figure for the USA is likely to remain the same, at 5%
