Please Help Me check my writing!

Furness Abbey stood still in the middle of a forest. The moon hung on top of the Abbey shining its bright light onto the forest as if it was an eye watching over everybody. The cloud floated in the sky, like ghosts swimming in the sea. Trees that surrounded the forest looked like hands of the un-dead swinging as if they were trying to reach out and grab you into the earth. I walked in the path that led me towards the Abbey.

It was a midnight with a full moon. I stopped at the entrance of Furness Abbey. I pushed the gate open and walked in. Suddenly, it slammed. Then I took a few more steps and I heard “Coo Coo”. The wind blew onto my face as if needles stabbed into my skin. It was terribly cold. I wanted to get into a warmer place. I ran towards the doors of the Abbey.
