My topic: Some universities offer online courses as an alternative to classes delivered on campus. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

My essay:

There is an increasingly growing popular claim that some universities offer online courses as an alternative to classes delivered on campus has become an issue which arouses an enormous controversy over the years. Online courses are less clear and subjected to individual’s opinions and attitudes. Based on my experiences and observations, I think, on the balance, reasons can be given to justify that universities should not offer online courses as an alternative to classes delivered on campus. However; the idea should be seen in light of this essay.

For starters, there is a certain plausible reason for supporting students to interact with a weaker subject, making it difficult to understand the lesson, work more passively. This could be exemplified by the subject needs to be as interactive as math. People cannot look at the theory and examples to understand and apply it to solving homework, they need to explain to student places that it does not understand.

It is also important to realize that students can have no direct supervision, making it easy for students to be lazy and study unfocused. Let’s me take my online English learning as an example. I signed up for ABC's online course, but it was only effective for me in theory; in fact, I never focused on listening to the entire lecture, I was distracted by the phone, and people around.

However, there is no denying that exam cheating is inevitable. Exam for other people in distance learning programs would serve as an excellent example. Many people who want a high degree without the ability to usually choose this method to be able to achieve the desired diploma.

All in all, regardless of the points to the contrary, it can be argued that universities should not offer online courses instead of studying at the campus.
