Nowadays, people hold conflicting views about whether advertising is still efficient to convince people to purchase goods or it has become too prevalent and caught no attention anymore. While many individuals believe that it is pointless, I would argue that advertising plays an indispensable role in persuading customers to buy things.

There is a compelling reason why several people claim that advertisements are pointless. It is obvious that we can watch advertising everywhere such as on TV, on social media platforms, or in the streets. Therefore, advertisements are prevalent, and sometimes makes people feel interrupted. As a result, people no longer care about them. A real-life example, Youtube watchers are bombarded with advertisements and the majority of them merely click “skip ad”, and even do not know what the products are yet.

In spite of these arguments, I hold firmly to the belief that advertising is a crucial tool of marketing for the purpose of encouraging individuals’ buying decisions. To be specific, the repetitive appearance of advertisements not only stimulates buyers’ curiosity about the products but also imprints brand images in individuals’ minds. Hence, if consumers have to select things to purchase, they will prefer to choose the products which are advertised by the brand. For instance, candy companies that have numerous TV commercials normally sell more products as well as make more profits than others.

In conclusion, based on the aforementioned explanation and pieces of evidence, I am of the opinion that although some advertising tactics are extremely popular, it is able to encourage people to buy goods.
