The given bar chart compares the spending on five different items – cars, computers, books, perfume, cameras of French and British people in 2010.
People in UK spent significantly more money than people in France. In both countries, the expenditure on cars was highest, which was opposed to that of perfume.
In Britain, people used most of their money on cars, accounted for 450,000 pounds, which is the highest figure shown on the chart. The expenditure British spent on cameras (roughly 350,000 pounds) doubled that of France (150,000 pounds). Similarly, 400,000 pounds which the UK population spent on books was much higher than that of France population (300,000 pounds).
In contrast, French people spent large amount of money on computers and perfume. Well above 350,000 pounds was used for computers, compared to 350,000 pounds of British people. The amount spent by the British on perfume, just under 150,000 pounds, is the lowest figure shown on the chart.
