Do you think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages?

It is believed that people will become passengers instead of taking responsibility for driving as all types of transportation will be driverless in the future. While this advance has a certain drawback, I am keen on the benefit that outstrips the former.

There is one disadvantage that is obvious in terms of this modern model of the transport system. To become driverless means that all vehicles need to be integrated with modern technology and high-tech operation, which has the same meaning as bringing about a dramatic increase in fares for people to travel. This advance will be suitable for a particular demographic: those who have an opulent and wealthy lifestyle. These driverless vehicles may make the mainstream and the underprivileged have difficulty in commuting conveniently as they cannot pay for the exorbitantly expensive cost.

Nevertheless, the advantage of such transportation development outweighs the drawback mentioned above. Vehicles with no need of drivers using modern technological advances may provide commuters with higher security and fewer risks related to traffic incidents. For instance, individuals will be able to travel while not worrying about if they violate traffic regulations or not. The situation in which those drive when getting drunk or not reaching the minimum age of eligibility for young drivers will not happen with the assistance of such a great transport advance. This may make our traveling environment safer.

To conclude, while there is a black point existing, it is absolutely outweighed by the benefit of vehicles carrying people to travel automatically.
