Please help me check my essay. Thank you so much

Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is believed that advertising boosts the sales of people’s main consumer products as well as encourages people to buy things unnecessarily. In my opinion, I partly agree with this statement, however, I still argue that it is not a sole contributor because of various other crucial elements on sale volumes.

On one hand, an intensive growth of sales of goods results from the fact people are increasingly surrounded by advertisements from a plethora of companies that want to promote their sales. Advertisements fill almost every minute of a day. They smile at us from the television screen, or shout to us from the radio loudspeakers, signal to us from roadside billboards all day, and flash messages to us in colored lights. No one can avoid being influenced by commercials. For example, it is possible for one to sit indifferently to a certain beautiful, convenient vacuum cleaner on TV. It is possible for one not to be attracted to a certain device that claims its wonderful effect of curing chronic diseases. As a matter of fact, advertisement has become one of the most authoritative voices speaking to us today: it dominates our lives.

On the other hand, certain goods have increased as they are a daily requirement. Nobody needs to drive the people into buying it. As an illustration, basic products such as bamboo or toothpaste, the number have gone up dramatically without investing much money in advertising. Moreover, one of the captivating reasons why people shop without second thoughts is their preference for branded goods. People, especially the celebrities or the affluent who want to maintain their image in front of others are willing to spend money on famous branches without any commercials. Consequently, the vital goods of living and customers’ preferences result in an increase in the number of goods sold.

In conclusion, besides advertising, an appealing method, basic requirements and the favorite of buyers motivates the sale of products in our societies.

I'm looking forward to seeing your feedback.
